Helen Stevens - Curriculum Coordinator
I first came to the NFTS in 2001 to join the Registry department as Admissions Coordinator. Over the seven years I was with the department the role evolved constantly, with applications more than doubling in that time, the introduction of online applications, new courses and the increased numbers of students taken into the school each year.
Having decided I wanted to move on to new challenges within the NFTS and do something a bit more specialised, I moved on to the Animation department as Curriculum Coordinator.
Outside of the school I spend most of my time being creative in the world of amateur theatre - both onstage and off. In the last few years I've co-written two successful pantomimes showing to audiences of 2,500 on the biggest amateur stage in North London, directed productions of Alan Ayckbourne's bittersweet comedy "Comic Potential" and the Christopher Hampton adaptation for the stage of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses", as well as performing in various plays, musicals and pantomimes.
Before joining the NFTS I completed a BA at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in Literature, Art History and Culture, in which I specialised in film and drama and where I discovered my passion for theatre.
