Fernando Carmo

Born in Portugal. I have studied drawing, painting and animation. Before enroling at the NFTS, I worked full time in the industry on commercial and entertainment projects. At the Film School I explored my own ideas and developed story telling skills with the collaboration of my fellow students from the other departments.

Ten years studying Fine Arts and working in commercials gave me the sensibility and the technical skills to work in animation with other directors, helping them to develop their stories; now it is my turn.

Making a short film is like opening a door to a new world. It was a heavy and difficult door to open but, thanks to a good collaboration between my fellow students, we managed to open this door together, and pass through to our own Hero's journey, learning from each other what filmmaking is all about…
At least that is my Hope.
