Catia Peres

My passion for characters began with my grandma's crazy stories about bears that were princes, frogs that were frogs forever but married with charming chickens, and the invisible man that my sister invented to scare me and that I always saw.These episodes from my childhood took place in Lisbon, Portugal where I was born in 1977.

After finishing my graphic design course at university, I started work on my first stories in puppet animation at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
After completing a post grad course in illustration and comics, I lost my fear of drawing and came to the NFTS to give time and life to some of the stories that were hidden in my diary books.
